Our Review of Lipid Recovery Serum
Lipid Recovery Serum is marketed as part of the Lipid Recovery Science line of skincare products. The product itself is manufactured by a little-known company called Custom Dermaceuticals. At the time of this review, we were unable to locate official websites either for the product or for the manufacturer. The product, therefore, may only be gotten through third-party retail stores.
Ingredients at a Glance
There are a number of anti-aging creams and other topical applications available today; however, we believe that when it comes to reducing the visible signs of aging, there may be better ingredients out there than those included in Lipid Recovery Serum. Therefore, we will take a look at Lipid Recovery Serum to see what its ingredients may be capable of doing.
As per a retail store listing the product, Lipid Recovery Serum may contain some of the following ingredients: Isododecane, Phenyl Trimethicone, Isostearyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Peroxidized Corn Extract, Tocopheryl Lineolate, Vitamin E, Soybean Extract and Sphingolipids. While Lipid Recovery Serum specifically claims to “reduce fine lines and lessen the appearance of wrinkles,” These ingredients fail to pique our interest.
Ingredients in Focus
We believe that most of these ingredients may be all too common; furthermore, scientific evidence linking any of these ingredients to reduced fine lines and wrinkles is not provided either. Ingredients like Vitamin E and Tocopheryl Lineolate may have some overall skin moisturizing and hydrating benefits; however, it may be a far cry to assume they may dramatically reduce the signs of aging.
As to the plant extracts included in the formula, there may be claims that they retain skin hydration and lubrication of the skin. Today, such ingredients have become quite popular. However, the lack of scientific evidence backing these claims makes us wonder if they really are anything more than conventional wisdom. We believe more in ingredients that have been scientifically advanced and proven to play a role in reducing the visible signs of aging.
As we age, the production of Collagen by our bodies also tends to start decreasing. As a result, our skins start looking old and flaky and wrinkles may start to form. However, advances in science have found ways to reduce such wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin tone. Many products today incorporate fresh Collagen derived from bovine, fish or plant sources. However, better products seem to go farther and include scientifically advanced ingredients like, for example, Matrixyl 3000®, which has been specially formulated to boost the natural production of Collagen by the body.
• Is a topical application Final Thoughts
• Contains Vitamin E and some natural extracts
Today, it may not be surprising to come across skincare manufacturers claiming one vitamin or mineral as the most important or efficient agent in reducing wrinkles and lines. However, we believe that vitamins and minerals may easily be replenished with the help of daily vitamin supplements. As such, we are skeptical of formulas that merely rely on boosting the supply of vitamins to the skin.
Therefore, an alternative may be to look up and research on other topical creams. We believe that it is necessary to ensure that the skin is getting properly hydrated and moisturized. Therefore, people may wish to find an effective product that not only contains Real Collagen, but also contains an ingredient like Matrixyl 3000®, which is proven to naturally boost the body’s production of Collagen. Such products may be among the best anti-aging formulas available.
